General Notes for Jonathan Hoskins
Jonathan may have been the legendary Johnny Appleseed; he grafted and bred the Jonathan Apple and took a quart of seeds to OH and distributed them to the settlers. The Hodgson & Hoskins families were the first to cut roads through the forests of Clinton, OH. In 1835 they migrated to Glasgow, Jefferson Co., IA. His sons Dillon, William, John and Thomas migrated to Oregon Territory in 1852 via the Oregon Trail.
