General Notes for Friedrich Carl Behnke
Fred Behnke died Sunday evening at his home from a heart and dropsy disease. He was born in West Prussia, October 1849 and came to America at the age of 19 years. He first lived in Chicago and then operated a bakery on Smith Street and later had a grocery store on Mill Street. He was the vice president of the Local Exchange Bank. He died at the age of 54 years, 6 months and 9 days. He was married twice and his first wife died 5 years ago. He was married to his second wife, Caroline Oetlinger for 4 years. He is survived by an adopted daughter and 3 step-children, also a half sister and one nephew, Fred Behnke.
