Verona Meta Lilly (Feldmann) Sander

Verona Meta Lilly (Feldmann) Sander, age 88, formerly of the Town of Rhine went home to be with her Lord on Saturday evening, April 25, 2009 at the Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center with her family by her side.

She was born on March 24, 1921 in the Town of Rhine daughter of the late Milton and Helen (Nix) Feldmann.

She attended school in the Town of Rhine and was employed at Gilson Brothers/Toro for 19 years and retired from there in 1985.

She married Willard H. Sander on November 13, 1943. He was preceded in death on April 20, 1997.

She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Plymouth. She loved to go on vacation, fish, garden, canning, and enjoyed living on the family farm. Verona's most precious thing in her life was her family and she enjoyed spending time with them and took great pride in being a wonderful mother and friend to all her pets and animals.

She is survived by 4 children, Sheila (Rich) Solek, Christine (Dick) Fontany, Mark (Ella Mae) Sander, Stanley (Barb) Sander; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Florence Harvey; and two brothers, Palmer (Ruby Jean) Feldmann, and Marvin (Myrtle)Feldmann.

Her husband, Willard; a son, Dwight; and a brother, Harley, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, May 1, 2009 at Salem United Church of Christ in Plymouth with the Rev. James Hoppert, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will follow in the Miller Cemetery in the Town of Rhine. Friends may call at the Wittkopp-Schneider Funeral Home in Plymouth on Thursday from 4 to 7 P.M. and again on Friday at the church from 10 A.M. until the time of service.
