General Notes for Alda Dorma Lee Sherwin |
When Aunt Edna was first teaching school, she taught in a little school house across the street from their house.Effie, her mother thought that Alda,who was just five years old, was little to go school, but Alda really wanted to go. Everyday she would run across the street and stand at the window and watch Edna teach. Finally Edna went to her mom and said "You mind as well let her come to school, she'll be at the window if you don't." So that's how Alda started going to school.
Alda got her middle name, Dorma Lee, from a comic strip that use to run in the paper. |
