Funeral services for Charles McMurray, 53, of South Nineteenth street, East Moline, who died at 6 a.m. Sunday following an illness of three weeks, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Primm funeral home. The Rev. W. Peterson officiated and burial was in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal.
McMurray, a veteran of World War I, had been employed at the Union Malleable Iron works here for eight years. He was born March 16, 1894, in Riverside, IA and married Edith Marie Hodson there in 1918. She died Nov. 29, 1929. In November, 1930, he married Edith Lee of Fairfield, IA.
Surviving are the widow; four sons, Kenneth, serving in the army, Rex, Charles Jr. and Thomas, all of East Moline; five daughters, Mrs. Charlotte Wells, Morning Sun, IA, Mrs. Helen McKinney of Davenport, Mrs. Margaret Roper of Norfolk, VA, Mrs. Wanda Taylor of Morning Side, and Anna McMurray of East Moline; two brothers, Loran McMurray of Hillsdale and Carl McMurray of East Moline; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Barnett of East Moline, Mrs. Margaret Johnson and Mrs. Mabel King, both of Fairfield, IA.
