General Notes for Thomas Pugh
(son of the immigrant, James Pugh, from whom Clarke County, Alabama, Pugh family descended), married out of meeting, Elizabeth (said to have been a Pugh). He was paying tax in Uantweal (?) and Uwchlan from 1730 to 1747. Soon after this latter date Thomas removed to North Carolina, being received by certificate at Cane Creek Meeting, 1756. His children were Jesse, Enoch, Mary, John, (perhaps a Thomas, Jr., and possibly Hannah, although they might have been grandchildren). Jesse removed to Urightsboro, Georgia (according to membership in Quaker Meeting). Mary became the wife of Herman Husband who recipitated the War of the Regulators of Alamance County, NC." ( End of quote from notes of Matilda Evans).
